JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Some people sell their homes or their cars, but one Jacksonville woman is selling all those things and more. She's selling her life. Joanne Springberg and her family have put an advertisement on eBay to sell her life in beautiful Jacksonville, Fla. She told Channel 4 that she decided to take the plunge when her husband had problems with his job and the housing market became a second problem.
"(I'm) trying to sell the house fast I'm going to sell everything with it. The car, dishes, whatever they want. It's all there," Springberg said. She said she and her two teenagers and her husband plan to move to an apartment so they can move wherever he's called to work. To make that happen, practically everything Springberg owns must go. In her eBay ad, she got very specific about what's incorporated in buying her life, including her board games like Balderdash and Scrabble and her kitchen items like a Crock-Pot, deep fryer and blender. "Everything in the house except the personal computer, clothing and my pets," Springberg said. The asking price for Springberg's life is $263,440. However, Springberg said that cost is negotiable. She said her eBay ad has only been up for one day and has not received any bids. However, the ad has had a lot of lookers. Springberg said it won't be easy to give up all her things, and her family feels the same way. "I just tell it like it is and they have to go along with it whether they like it or not, and they don't like it," Springberg said. She said if someone takes her family up on the offer, she and her family would just start over with a whole new life. "Right now we can't move because we have the house. If we sell it, we can go anywhere we want to," Springberg said. To see Springberg's ad on eBay, visit Buy my life.
