An entertainer based in Ocho Rios is dead on Friday afternoon following a *lo**y domestic dispute in Exchange, St. Ann.

The girlfriend of the artiste is now battling for life in hospital in what investigators theorize was an attempted murder suicide.

Detectives attached to the Ocho Rios Police are now at Lanswood Road in the community just outside the resort town piecing together evidence to determine what led to the *lo**y quarrel between Stephen Menzie, 27 also called "Eloquent" and his girlfriend who is yet to be identified.

Menzie was found hanging from a tree.

According to reports shortly after 2 pm, the couple was embroiled in a quarrel.

It is understood that as the dispute became heated, Menzie allegedly used a knife to slash the woman's neck.

She was rushed to the St. Ann's Bay hospital but was later transferred to the Kingston Public Hospital where she is now undergoing emergency medical treatment. 

The entertainer was later discovered hanging by a piece of electrical wire on Landswood Road
