It allows MediaZoneJA to step more into the mainstream and be home to everyone include younger folk (whom we have not blocked), to our prized female members and potential new ones and to the wider global community who are smitten by the Jamaican/Caribbean lifestyle...

The forum as far as we are concerned have not changed, the long list of mods were all installed overtime and remain in force (although based on interest in continuing and performance we may have to make some adjustments) and the PR Gang have and will always be a central part of MZJA.

There is absolutely no intention to run the board just to ban users. In fact, we are seriously considering an amnesty (within reason) for those users who have been blocked from the forum.

We appreciate the support of everyone and know that no one on the board would feel comfortable with MZJA being labeled as the forum that did not protect its valued members and hardworking moderators, showed no regard for schoolers, females, minority groups, etc. and did not bother to put in a few minor rules to guide how we showcased our beautiful culture to the world...

Finally, we are open to not only to the suggestions of our mods but also to those from members. In this regard, we would love to get you feedback on specific items of concern and your suggestions as to how better they could be handled...

Looking forward to the constructive dialogue...

You even a read people responses??The main reason zone so succesuful is because it is self policed, when major issues you saw the old Admin come in , which is needed. This Admin want to make mediazone a as some of the regular websites...pity I wonder what other websites you are running, that have any kind of success?

Its nots every site which is catered for young folk or mainstream

Admin you invited me to speak my piece. I do not have to use expletives to express myself. But I do so by choice to convey emotion and stress a degree of intensity. After all even GOD gives us fredom of choice. You have taken over and I do admire most of the improvements. The radio definately needed cleaning up so that the mainstream could enjoy the broadcast in the daytime. The site categories are more organized and membership is growing by leaps and bounds. All is well and beautiful in the world.
But as messed up as the site used to be, THIS WAS OUR PLAYGROUND AND WE WERE THE MZJA FAMILY. Good or bad we sorted out our own problems. Admin back then only interveened in extreme cases. Now all these changes and the newbies have pushed away a lot of us veterans. I have heard complaints and seen for myself how the newbies with bad attitudes have pushed away veteran members on the board.
Late last year we feared that the bigger the site got we would lose OUR THING, OUR SPECIAL PLACE, OUR ZONE. Limiting membership was even discussed.
But the reality is that the zone did not belong to us and now there is a country club where our dirty little play ground used to be.
You bought the site to make money and as a business man I understand the nature of that.
But the MZJA family will never be the same.
In a PM you asked me to be careful about what I said in reply. Sorry I was not.
Admin maybe you will understand why some of us are angry because change is never easily accepted.
Bless DJ Romeo

In response...I can only say this. Without a shred of doubt in my mind, the greatest DJs out of Jamaica are Ninja Man, Beenie Man, Buju Banton and Bounti Killa....

In fact...you can boo all you want but in my early days discovering dancehall with a friend who owned the Mighty Travellers...I have seen with my own two eyes, many times, a string of Bounti tunes and dubplates drive real "bad man" into a frenzy. Can't say I have ever seen a reaction like that to any other of our very talented social commentators...

But back to the meat of the matter. What do you think of a DJ by the name of Sean Paul? You would say "ah ediat dat mon" and you may be right...for in truth, if I was to name my top 100 DJs out of Jamaica...I doubt an obscure DJ by the name of Sean Paul would make the list. But what is the reality we face? A DJ...mediocre at best (and im caan even dance), has turned out to be Jamaica's hottest dancehall export and quite possibly the most successful DJ Jamaica and the world have seen.

Why...because the-now-can't-be-taken-seriously-gun-pon-teet-Ninja-Man just can't say no to the next pipe and of course, the next high, a Bounti/Beenie feud that has become worse than a nagging woman and a leaking house and a Buju Banton who is obsessed with a group of people and can't see the big picture. They continue to fight themsleves and among themselves like crab in a barrel...failing to see the great riches dancehall has to offer internationally...

And what has the DJ who couldn't even make my top 100 done...he has carefully studied the international market, zoned in on their needs and delivered with pinpoint accuracy that would make the best neurosurgeon proud.

So...if by this post you are suggesting that a community with over 10,000 members...a community that grows by up 40 members a day...a community that is slowly realising the enviable position and responsibility, as the #1 Jamaican site, to sell Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean...a community that you, of all persons as a foundation member, should feel exceptionally proud for being apart of...if you are saying this community should be a Ninja, a Buju or like a Bounti and Beenie...it's a discussion you alone will have.

On the other hand though...(and I say this with only the very best for MZJA, Jamaica and the Caribbean in mind) if you have any ideas and suggestions that would make MZJA deliver with the kind of deadly precision and success Sean Paul has, I am all ears...

Nice analogy Admin, a Sean Paul styled site. I see your point but you failed to acknowledge mine and those echoed in a topic started by Jamaican Shem about the Zone family. It is pointless to continue. But I will accept your invitation to continue to contribute to the zone in a positive manner.

Romeo...I do acknowledge everything you say and appreciate the point of view but the essence of my post is to draw attention to the opportunity we have given the very priviledged platform we have as Jamaica's #1 site...

We have made some changes  but as a said before they were never meant to ban or censor anyone ...they were just necessary changes to deal with our size, robust growth and out of wanting to have a system that suggested fairness to everyone...

I don't think the emphasis should be on what went on in the past...the question is what you and I can do to capitalise on this unique opportunity we have been given.

I am happy that you have accepted the invitation in this regard and look forward to your valuable input...and even greater collaboration in the future..

Cheers!

well stain vip was started with the intent of keeping ppl from coming on the board and just downloading and not giving back now some are giving and complain they still can't get vip if your gonna keep this vip then the rules for getting and keeping vip should be clearly spelled out I don't care about vip it doesn't matter to me but for those that never had it feel there missing out.
