Detectives from the Mandeville CIB in Manchester have arrested and charged a teenager with the murders of three women. The murders occurred between 2006 and 2008.
Charged with three counts of murder is 19-year-old André Bradford of Grey Ground district, Manchester.
Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network's (CCN) liaison officer are that Bradford was picked up during an operation in the Grey Ground area in early June. He was held in connection with last May's murder of 41-year-old Patricia Clayton of Grey Ground. He was formally charged for Clayton's death on June 23.
Further investigations linked him to the murders of 30-year-old Bridgette Bryan on December 15, 2006, and 60-year-old Vera Bradford on October 12, 2007, both of Three Chains district, Manchester. The additional charges were subsequently laid against him.
Stab wounds The CCN had earlier reported that about 6:30 a.m., on May 31, residents of Sherwood Acres in Heartease district stumbled upon Clayton's body and called the police. The body was found in an open lot with stab wounds.
About 8:30 a.m. on October 12 last year, family members of Bradford went to visit her at her home in Three Chains.
They discovered her nude body with multiple stab wounds in a section of the house.
In the third incident, which occurred on December 15, 2006, about 8:30 p.m., Bryan left home to visit a friend in the community. When she did not arrive as expected, her friend became suspicious and alerted residents who launched a search.
Her body, with multiple stab wounds, was later found in bushes in the community.
Bradford is scheduled to appear in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
