Popular United States online gossip columnist, Perez Hilton, is continuing his tirade against Jamaica's stance on homosexuality, by adding a new post entitled 'More reasons why Jamaica sucks' to his website, www.perezhilton.com.

Hilton, the self-proclaimed 'queen' of media, who is also known for his flamboyant wardrobe and attitude, is host of a popular website which has become a hot spot for the latest entertainment news and gossip.

Embedded in the post, which was added on June 23, was a link to an article published online at www.globeandmail.com and titled 'It was a Total Nightmare'. In this article, a 30-year-old gay man, who reportedly fled Jamaica for Canada because of the threat of violence, spoke about his experiences as a gay man living in Jamaica.

The man will be the grand marshall of the Gay Pride Toronto parade, to be held this weekend. He spoke of watching a friend being beaten, stoned and chopped to death in Montego Bay, and described life in Jamaica as "miserable with happy times". He also claimed he was beaten and threatened by police officers, and said 13 of his friends had been murdered in Jamaica.

According to the article, the man moved to Canada last January and has filed an application for refugee status. He had high praises for life in Canada and said, "I don't have to look over my shoulder when I walk down the street. Canada is what I want to see Jamaica mirror."

The post has received 243 comments, many of which express extreme disgust and disapproval of the "homophobic conditions" that exist in Jamaica. One person, identified as Chris, wrote "Jamaica sucks, they're all just monkeys, inside and certainly out". Another added, "What a horrible country", while someone else asserted, "I will never visit that country. Never. I'm sure there are other nice parts, but that is intolerable."

Another person, Chaka, wrote,"Face it, your country does suck. A close friend went to Jamaica for her honeymoon. Three days later, they were robbed in their hotel room. Her husband was killed trying to protect her. Torturing and killing gay people is against God's laws. It's wrong and you know it. Don't sit here and talk about your beautiful beaches while you are doing nothing to stop these crimes against humanity."
