Tragedy struck at the Vineyard Town Golden Age Home, Kingston, yesterday when one resident was stabbed to death during a dispute that developed with another resident over a haircut.
The deceased man, 56-year-old Michael Feanny, was a barber at the home. The other man, said to be in his mid 30s, is currently in police custody. Up to late last night, he was not charged.
Reports reaching THE STAR are that about 10:45 a.m., both men had a dispute at the home over a haircut. The dispute between both parties reportedly got physical and a knife was drawn. Feanny was stabbed in his neck. He was rushed to the nearby St Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
When THE STAR visited the Vineyard Town Golden Age Home yesterday, staff members were mum about the details surrounding the incident. They pointed to a written directive left by the administrator that all media queries should be sent to the Minister with responsibility for Local Government.
