One876Entertainment understands that promoters in the United Kingdom specifically in England are finding it difficult to cash in when it comes on to ticket sales for shows staged in that region. This coupled with being over-charged by the artistes is making it even harder to break even or make a profit on their investment.
One promoter contacted One876Entertainment sending a message to reggae/dancehall artistes, stop trying to over charge U.K. promoters because you hear about England only a handful of reggae/dancehall artist have the capability to pack venues in the U.K.
We often hear reports on shows in the U.K. where it is said the shows were successful but one patron questioned, Successful on what scale? The concerned patron says most of these shows didnt have a packed venue or even close to the limit.
According to the U.K-based promoter, there are some artistes who can ensure a great turnout, Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Mavado, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, Anthony B, Jah Cure, Beres Hammond, the Marleys, Freddie McGregor and Sanchez thats about it all these other little artistes need to come promote their thing first and stop going on like superstars when you cant even get 1000 people in a venue.
For the last couple of months a lot of the shows have been empty because artistes in Jamaica dont promote themselves properly in the U.K. half the public know your songs but they dont know you this is the place to make big money so wise up, he warned.
