The momentum is building for the, persistent and determined Jamaican duo RDX debut album release. Now hard at work in studios voicing, mixing and mastering tracks to complete the album, the artistes are busy putting a number of things in place to ensure that the album impact on the industry the way it should.
Of course, one can only imagine what to expect from this album as RDX is popularly known within the industry locally and internationally for their dance music. 'We love dance music' says Renigade X the Producer/Artiste of the group, 'this type of music brought RDX to the fore'. Delomar X and Renegade X both hail from inner city communities and understand as well as appreciate the fact that their responsibilities as artistes to the society does not reflect negative energy on youths especially in the inner city during these times. 'When we go out there we can feel the energy the people feel and its fun, everybody enjoy themselves' says Delomar X 'and we can live with that.
RDX has in the past produced hit songs such as the very humourous 'Fridayz', a track that earned them a tour of Japan last year. Another popular single by them is 'Broken Wings' a tribute to all the late great Dancehall and Reggae artistes, this particular single will be featured on the album and is proof enough that these artistes are versatile.
Universal Japan is indeed a major label and landing a deal with a company such as this is a major step for any artiste. Hence, the duo must live up to expectation and put out an album that depicts their true image as well as illustrate the reason why Universal has signed them.
RDX the multi-talented two have had an impressive year copping two number one singles 'Dance' and 'Everybody Dance' (still very popular in the Dancehall), the recipients of the 2008 Emee Awards for the Best Duo, having signed this one album deal with Universal Japan and is the most popular Duo in Dancehall, one can only imagine 'whats next' for RDX.
