NEW YORK -- A teenage girl filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit against three Harrison police officers alleging one of them sexually assaulted her, The Journal News reported. The Westchester County teen also accused all three officers of confiscating and forcing her to watch a sex tape in which she performed when she was 15 years old, the newspaper said. The lawsuit, which was filed in U.S. District Court in White Plains, alleges one officer sexually abused the girl while canvassing a residence on May 17, 2007, after arresting a Harrison man on drug-related charges.
Harrison police Capt. Anthony Marraccini, Sgt. Edward Lucas and Det. Richard Light were named as defendants in the lawsuit, in which the teen is referred to as "Jane Doe," said the Journal News. The age lawsuit says that police officers, including the three defendants, raided the house searching for another weapon and more marijuana, and Light touched the girl's buttocks and "placed both of his hands on (her) breasts and massaged them," during the raid, reported The Journal News. The lawsuit alleges Light acted "solely for the purpose of his own sexual gratification and with the intention of both degrading and sexually abusing" the girl, the report said. The Journal News reported that Marraccini allegedly walked into the bedroom and returned with a sex video in which the plaintiff, then 15 years old, performed, and the three officers forced the girl to watch the 15-minute tape with them, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit also says that Light allegedly told the girl, who was 16 at the time of the raid, that he should beat her for performing in the tape and prayed her parents would punish her in that manner, reported The Journal News. The Journal News said both parties involved in the lawsuit declined to comment. Light allegedly told the girl she was under arrest for evidence tampering, but the lawsuit states that the officers had no reason to search the girl and that she was forcibly held in the residence for three hours without being able to use her cell phone, reported The Journal News. The Journal News reported that the defendants allegedly stole the video to bring back to the police department, where they "played the video for other members of the department to watch for their amusement, sexual gratification, and to further degrade" the teenager, according to the lawsuit. No specific dollar amount is listed in the lawsuit, which asks a jury to award the girl punitive and compensatory damages and to return the tape so it can be destroyed, reported The Journal News.
