ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Cold hearted gas thieves hit a new low in Orange County. Someone stole gas out of a daycare van. A mechanic says the thieves cut the gas line from underneath the van to drain out the gas. When the owner of the Tree House Daycare tried to use the van to pick up children, it wouldn't start. Later, a mechanic confirmed what happened. "I received a call from the mechanic and he said that someone had cut the gas line and the pumpline," said Julio Nazario who works at the Tree House Daycare Center. The daycare owner says the thieves went to a lot of trouble for nothing. He says the tank was nearly empty from runs he made the day before. The owner is facing a $1,000 repair bill to fix the damage.
