JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A fun night at the ballpark turned into more for one couple who got engaged at Friday evenings Jacksonville Suns game.
When she walked into the baseball grounds, little did Angela Compo know that during the fourth inning she would have to make a big decision.
When the words, Angela, will you marry me? Jon, came up on the big screen, Compos boyfriend, Jon Lesser, didnt strike out.
That was crazy. It was the neatest thing anybody has ever done for me, Compo said after agreeing to marry Lesser.
The couple said they were friends for several years before falling madly in love about three months ago.
We can talk for hours. We just dont get tired of talking. We laugh together all the time. We spend hours and hours just giggling and laughing. Its a wonderful thing -- something that Ive never felt before, Lesser said.
He loves my four kids. He loves me, and hes ready to take the whole package, Compo said.
The future bride said Fridays game was the first professional game shed attended. The couple plans to wed sometime next spring.
