I Had No Argument - Sharon Burke

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=1470 Sharon Burke head of Solid Agency, one of Jamaica's premier booking company has come out in defense of her company to set the record straight. Apparently reports have been circulating via the internet and other sources that the company executive was involved in a heated exchange with Queen of the Dancehall Lady Saw.

Miss Burke in a telephone conversation with a member of the 876radio.com management team explained that neither she nor any present employees of her organization was engaged in a heated exchange with the deejay.

However she did confirm that there was an argument involving Lady Saw and a former employee of the organisation, but the matter was in no way related to her organisation.

"Me and Lady Saw had no argument, as a matter of fact we are on very good terms, there was an argument involving a former employee of which I am not aware of the origins" - Sharon Burke.

Reason for the argument is still unclear at this time but efforts by 876radio.com to reach Lady Saw for a comment proved futile.

Lady Saw born Marion Hall in the hot summer of 1972, first successes began at the beginning of the 1990s. While gun talk ruled the dancehalls of West Kingston, she sang lyrics with a heavy dose of sexually explicit lyrics, known as "slackness", into the music, but from her perspective as a female. Recording for the local Diamond label, she released early hits like "If Him Lef" and "Stab Out de Meat", which was often met with mixed reaction by audiences. At that time, she also became known for her raucous stage shows, which usually included picking men from the audience (or sometimes her own band members) to pull on stage and to simulate sex acts with.

After a 6 year hiatus, in late 2004, she released Strip Tease. It has been called her most balanced and well-written album yet. "I've Got Your Man" had significant video and radio airplay in the U.S. "I've Got Your Man" peaked at #85 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles Chart and since has gone on to win a Grammy for her collaborative efforts with international group 'No Doubt'. Saw now has album out titled "Walk Out".
