THE 2008 ST. KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL LAUNCHES IN THE BIG APPLE
New York, New York USA, 17th April, 2008 Musicians, media representatives Festival organizers and supporters, congregated at the launch of the 12th annual St. Kitts Music Festival held in New York earlier today. Organisers were eager to relay the expectations of the Festival; musicians expressed their genuine desire to perform and media personnel were all ears.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Senator Richard Skerritt, Allister Williams, Executive Director of the St. Kitts Music Festival and Faron Lawrence Chairman of the St. Kitts Music Festival Committee all relayed information on different aspects of the Festival, which allowed the audience to understand how the entire event comes together.
Senator Skerritt began his presentation by enlightening the receptive media group about the defining characteristics of the Festival and why the 12th year of the world class event will differ from previous years. Skerritt shared that the St. Kitts Music Festival is about the development of all genres of musicpromotion of music locallyattracting interest internationally..having a fantastic party.
Grammy Award winner, John Legend eagerly joined the launch via telephone from North Carolina, USA. He expressed his excitement to perform new material from his upcoming album and welcomed the opportunity to introduce his style to music lovers who may not be familiar with him. He promised that his performance will be energetic and soulful.
Jazz musician Paul Peres lent his support to the 12th annual St. Kitts Music Festival by being present at the launch and was candid with his impression of why the St. Kitts Music Festival is one of the greatest Festivals in the world. According to Peres a good Festival is decided by crowd response, the quality of the stage production, the caliber of the accommodation offered to the performers and the reception at the airport, to name a few areas.
