JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says Jacksonville Check Cashiers on Blanding Boulevard is very fortunate to have a surveillance system, because the business just took a big hit from one of its own employees.
"This individual clearly has sticky fingers," said Melissa Bujeda with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Bujeda says the business safe had $83,400 in it Friday morning, but $20,000 was missing just a couple of hours later.
A camera is installed directly above the safe inside the business at 5410 Blanding Boulevard, something workers say the longtime employee knew when she walked in the room and stuffed the $20,000 in her shirt.
Police say she had stolen the key off the manager's keychain and took the cash during the day, just steps from other employees and customers.
The suspect is 25-year-old Jacquilla Bullard, and police say that's not all she did.
"She must've been needing money for something, we don't know what for, but she printed and took over 15 money orders," said Bujeda.
"She has no local arrest history, so they hired her thinking she was a good employee and she was stealing from them."
As employees were calling police, another employee went to Bullard's home and recovered $14,000, but Bullard hasn't been tracked down since.
If you have any information about Bullard's whereabouts, you can call our partner First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
