Barley a week after she was released from a New York jail for violating probation, Foxy Brown appeared in a Florida Court today (April 23) to face assault charges stemming from a scuffle in a local beauty shop last year.
As reported earlier, Brown was arrested at Florida's Queen Beauty Supply shop in February 2007 for allegedly throwing hair glue at a store employee. She was also accused of spitting on the store employee and struggling with an officer who wanted to question her about the incident.
According to CBS 4, Brown's appearance in court Wednesday was supposed to be a status hearing but the Brooklyn bred rapper tried to work out a plea deal with the State Attorney without using her local attorney.
Due to that, Browns attorney resigned from the case and the judge gave the rapper two weeks to find a new attorney and return to court on May 8th.
Last week, Brown was released from New York's Rikers Correctional Facility after serving eight months for violating probation.
Brown was on probation for attacking two manicurists at a nail salon in 2004 but the rapper would be thrown in jail after skipping anger management classes and failing to get the courts consent before traveling outside New York.
Prior to be being tossed in jail, Brown would allegedly hit her neighbor with a Blackberry phone during an argument. She is expected back in a New York court on May 5th to face the charges from that incident.
