Tameka Lindsay, the girlfriend of imprisoned gang leader Joel Andem, was yesterday granted bail when she appeared in the Gun Court.
Lindsay, 32, is facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. She was granted $200,000 bail after defence attorney Peter Champagnie made the application.
The businesswoman of Land Lease, Papine, St Andrew was charged on April 1 after a firearm was allegedly recovered at a grocery shop she operates.
It was reported that on March 31 about 1:30 p.m., a police/military party responded to a report of loud noise coming from Land Lease and went to the community where a dance was in progress.
It is reported that a search was conducted of the area. While there, a grocery shop operated by the accused was searched and a Ruger 9mm pistol with the serial number erased was reportedly found buried in a bag of chicken feed.
Lindsay was subsequently taken into custody and later charged.
