amaican deejay Vybz Kartel has dismissed a recent Busy Signal single which makes a glib reference that 'bad man nuh tek picture wid gun', a comment that could be directed at an incident earlier this year when Vybz Kartel and Aidonia were identified in a photograph with what appeared to be guns. "Only schizophrenics fight their shadows. Why would I want to test my sanity by challenging my own reflection? Message to ghetto youths: life is more than guns and badness and media hype. Me want eternal wealth not short term gratification and destructive masculinity, that's what some people seem to be after. The deejay has been turning his attention to projects such as the promotion of his Vybz Rum liquor, as well as playing a role to help decrease the level of violence in the society. "We have to make an effort to reach the disenfranchised youths in Jamaica, to make them understand that crime and violence is not the answer, life is more than just guns and badness...there are many opportunities out there and other ways for them to exist and express themselves," he said.
