At the age of fifteen, I had a devastating toothache that was diagnosed as an abscess at the Linstead hospital in St. Catherine. I bore the pain and did an extraction without anesthetics free of cost. During my RAF service was the only occasion in which I was hospitalised for an attack of laryngitis. I had cataracts removed at a hospital in the USA. I had to pay for that service. My last skirmish with hospitalisation happened right here in Montego Bay in January of 2003 when I was hit from behind by a young demon driving a bimmer. He disappeared like a ghost. Quite fortunately, I was not badly hurt.
