Mavado's travel hitch explained Julian Jones-Griffith, manager of deejay, Mavado, dispelled rumours recently about his artist had been deported from the United States of America.
Julian issued a statement after Mavado was denied entry in the United States on Thursday.
The statement reads: Mavado and I were very surprised by the immigration issues he had upon arriving in the US on Thursday night. He was deemed "inadmissible" by the US Department of State, who had instructed Homeland Security to return him to Jamaica to face a warrant for his arrest.
Upon checks we immediately did in Jamaica, we discovered there is no warrant for his arrest in Jamaica so it seems as if the system had not been updated in the US to say he had already been arrested, bailed and rendered free to travel with the return of his travel documents.
Julian says, Mavado was not deported and they have already taken steps to rectify the situation, which they are confident will happen in the immediate future.
Reports from Canada indicate that Mavado's Canadian fans are 'on edge' since he is scheduled to perform this coming weekend at EB Club Lounge in Montreal. Well, let's hope Julian knows to clear up legalities before lifting off from Jamaica next time.
I NEVER fail, i'm just SUCCESSFUL in finding out what doesn't work Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.
