A Missouri teen is facing child endangerment charges after hospital tests showed her three young children ingested crack cocaine, a report said.
The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported that the children ate crumbs that their mother left behind before she allegedly went out to sell the drug, court papers said.
The newspaper said Children's Mercy Hospital contacted police after one of the children suffered seizures this week.
As part of the police investigation, the other two children who had been in the apartment, ages 3 and 2, were tested for drugs. Both tested positive for cocaine, according to the court documents.
Tasha Cole, 17, was charged with four felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Cole reportedly admitted that she left the children with a friend while she sold drugs. Court papers say Cole told police that when she returned she found the children playing with the plate on which she had "cut" the crack cocaine, the newspaper reported.
