Much has been said about the fight between Fat Joe and Papoose. Although both agree a scuffle did take place, the details about how the fight went down deviate depending on who you ask. There is one person who hasnt spoken on the situation but was present at the fracas Cassidy.
While rumors of Cassidy setting up Papoose begins to make its rounds, Cassidy appeared on Miss Jones radio show to address the situation and give his side of the story.
When asked if he set Pap up, Cassidy responded by saying I definitely wouldnt set Papoose up. If anything you have to blame the promoter, the person that booked us for the show, the person who booked the hotel rooms because they all knew what hotel rooms we were going to be in.
Although he admits to having a pretty solid relationship to Joe, Cassidy wanted to quickly do away with any talk of a set up whatsoever.
It wasnt my fault, I was just reaching out, trying to communicate, trying to build relationships, he stated. That was actually my first time conversating with papoose in a hotel room. Ive ran into him a couple of times and seen his face but I never really got a chance to communicate with him.
He also says that Joe did come to his door but apparently didnt know that Papoose would be in there.
When (Joe) first came to the door, my people were at the door, they know that Im cool with Fat Joe I had a relationship with Fat Joe for years, Cassidy continues. It was impossible to plan a set up because I didnt know I was going to actually see Papoose in order to get his information to call him to my room.
But was it Joe who started the fight or Pap?
I remember Fat Joe saying something like do we have a problem I dont remember his exact words, he recalls. I guess Papoose thought that if he said he didnt have a problem that hed be backing down. But in the streets if you dont got a problem with someone you need to make that known and if you do you need to make that known as well.
From there things get hazy as Cassidy couldnt remember who hit who first and mentions that he excused himself from the room because he didnt want to be in the middle of it. He does admit that Joe and Pap talked in the hallway after the fight but has no idea what it was about.
From there, Miss Jones kept insisting on Cassidy saying who hit who but Cassidy insisted on saying he didnt set it up. And thats where the interview ends.
