Last weekend's Spring Break held at Long Bay Beach in the tourist infested town of Negril left a lot of patrons disappointed. The event which boasted a solid line up with the likes of Queen Ifrica and the Warlord Bounty Killer encountered a few unforeseen hiccups and we was in the house to witness it's unfolding.

Nonetheless the show garnered a decent turn out. The event hosted by M.C Nuffy and Miss Kitty got off to a relatively good start with the early round being governed by the young and upcoming acts. Danielle aka D.I. did a short set while taking a swipe at D'Angel. Tifa, Natalie Storm and members of the Ward 21 family all gave a good account of themselves, so did Former Black Uhuru member Mykal Rose who must have been mistakenly thrown into that batch.

D'Angel easily was one of the nights' biggest surprise gave a stellar performance and to the amazement of many she was NOT booed, a female patron was even overheard asking "wait a how she nuh get boo, mi shock, well she a gwaan still nah lie", many expected D'Angel to address Danielle's insults but it seem that was the farthest thing from her mind.

During intermission and band changes musical juggling was provided by Stone Love, Metromedia, Hotta Ball and Mad Ras from Rebel T, backing band Ruff Cutt was now all saddled up and ready for the invasion of the big guns.

The ever hilarious duo of Captain Barkey and Wickerman deliverd in their true comedic style and was later joined on stage by the fireman Capleton who got some of the biggest forwards of the night. However the night belonged to veteran singer Cocoa Tea and the Dancehall Don Gorgon Ninja Man.

Cocoa Tea who had the audience eating out of his hands nearing the end of his set said "mek mi hurry up and leave because mi a try avoid Ninjaman", but before he could finish his utterances while exiting the stage on came Ninja Man, climbing up the left wing of the stage like Spider man with his signature line "Hold On ..Cocoa Tea a weh yuh a guh come here man." Tea seemingly caught off guard returned to the stage to engage the Don Gorgon under his dancehall unity umbrella.

"People mi come fi kill Cocoa Tea tonight, so mi nuh kno weh him a run go", Ninja then kicked off the proceedings with a tune for tune segment before lauching into a line for line musical exchange with his song "Mi have the permit fi bury and the license fi kill" but the veteran singer was not to be out done and told Ninja Man, he was going to reverse the hearse and put him in. Ninja as quick as a fox replied "A mi ah di hearse driver" without skipping a beat Tea added "Well if you ah di driva then mi ah di undertaker..so yuh still dead".

Cocoa Tea seemingly ahead was stopped in his tracks abruptly by Ninja Man when he said "People di odda day mi tek weh Coco Tea girl and she deh ah mi yard, when mi an har deh deh the phone ring, nuh di one Cocoa Tea deh pon the line a sing bout lonely, I'm so lonely... with nobody to call my own". This brought much laughter, then Tea said "no Ninja stop, yuh cyah tek my girl,... people yuh nuh see how him ugly", then they proceeded to ask the crowd to engage into a "who is the better looking artiste" mini contest, needless to say Cocoa Tea had the overwhelming majority vote.

"Seet deh Ninja so if any girl a get tek weh a me woulda tek your girl", Ninja in his relentless pursuit continued "People mi seh mi tek anodda one a Cocoa Tea girl dem, one false hair one" this was were the Don Gordon got the unexpected upper cut "Stop Ninja nuh man inna false hair cyaah take rasta girl cause real rasta nuh deal wid girl wid false hair". The pandemonium that ensued had the crowd in stitches, with laughter and there endeth the clash, with the title going to the humble Rastafarian.

Bounty Killer who was one of the headline acts was a no show, to the disappointment of many, other performers in the house included, Junior Reid, Anthony B, Queen Ifrica, Sizzla, Harry Toddler, Monster Empire, Singer J, Fanton Mojah, Alliance member Einstein, Turbulence amongst others.
