Rumours have been circulating that Canada's most celebrated and awarded Reggae singer, Tanya Mullings, has been fatally injured in a car accident. The rumour, which began circulating early Friday March 7, are absolutely false says Tanya's sister and Manager, Carrie Mullings.
"I began receiving phone calls as early as 7am EST from concerned producers such as Computer Paul and Steve Locke (of Truck Back Records). I assure you, Tanya is very much alive. We had breakfast together this morning!"
Tanya's musical career began at the age of 15 when she took to the stage under the guidance of her father, and pioneer in the Canadian Reggae industry, Karl Mullings. Under his tutelage, Tanya has worked with industry legends such as Jackie Mittoo, Alton Ellis, Jay Douglas, Leroy Sibbles, Ken Boothe and many other noted performers.
Tanya's musical success continues to blaze around the world! She recently performed at the Hard Rock Live in Universal Studios in Orlando, and will be headlining the Michigan Reggae Festival, and is scheduled to perform at The Whiskeys in Calgary early April. She has also been nominated for a Juno (the Canadian equivalent to the Grammy's) for 'Best Reggae Recording'.
To all fans, the singer says "I'm here! I'm not ready to leave the earth just yet!"
