Even though he has been incarcerated, deejay Deva Brat has continued to make in roads in local charts with his vibesy hit single, Bag A Talking (Gussie Clarke). The single Bag a Talking (Gussie Clarke) which appears on the Truck Back Records label made its debut on the Jamaica Music Countdown chart at #20 this week. The single is also at #13 on the HYPE TV charts.
But even while he continues to enjoy recording success, rumours have been circulating that he has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on the carnal abuse charge. That is not true, a member Deva Brats camp has assured One876Entertainment.com, because he hasn't even returned to court yet.
"It is just malicious rumours...he has not been sentenced to 14 years, the case hasn't even been tried yet. Deva is OK, waiting to have his day in court, and we intend to post bail this month when he returns to court," Deva Brat's babymother who spoke on condition of anonymity said. She has a four year-old son for the deejay.
Deva Bratt will return to court on March 27th to answer to charges that he had sexually assaulted a 14 year-old girl in February of this year. He is also appearing before the court on a carnal abuse charge, however, word on the street is that the alleged victim has not been attending court to pursue the matter.
