For the past 11 years he has been copping awards for the coveted title DJ Of The Year, not without the questioning and disgruntlement of some detractors in the business, who will under hushed breaths also attest to the fact that he certainly knows how to keep himself in the picture, churning out songs that keep dancehall vibrant and alive.


After recently picking up three awards at the Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards, in the categories of DJ Of The Year, Collaboration of the Year and Song Of The Year, Beenie Man continues to add more trophies to music cabinet.

On Wednesday, February 13, at the IRIE FM Music Awards (IFMA) he walked away with the trophies for the Best Dressed Male, DJ of The Year and Listeners Choice Artiste of the Year.

Dogged with several unfortunate incidents in 2007, Beenie Man prevailed though them all, continued to give quality performances at home and abroad, while at the same time recording several singles that entered the charts in top positions on local and international charts.

The artiste, who is very pleased with his accomplishment, told Xtratainment that despite what the entire player haters are doing to bring him down, he will continue deejay and be the number one deejay for many more years to come.
