MediaZoneJA.com received a copy of a letter written by Deva Bratt while in the Portmore Police lockup that professes his innocence, and thanking his fans for their unconditional support.

"I would like to assure my fans that I am not guilty of the accusations leveled against me. I did not physically or sexually assault this young miss. I have seen her in the community and know her family well, and I would not seek to harm her in anyway. I regret that my name is being dragged through the mud in such a manner, but I intend to fight these accusations and eventually clear my name. I would like to thank my fans who have stood by me in this difficult time," the letter said.

Deva Bratt will return to court on March 27th to answer to charges that he had sexually assaulted a 14 year-old girl in February of this year. He is also appearing before the court on a carnal abuse charge, however, word on the street is that the alleged victim has not been attending court to pursue the matter. The deejay's 'Gussie Clarke' hit continues to vault up the HYPE TV top 20 charts, and his single 'Everybody Knows What Right From Wrong'  from his one-drop 'Devalution' which in 'Deva lingua' is a word means Deva's Evolution, and not devolution.

The letter continues: 'this experience is a challenging one but it is an opportunity to learn, and shows that anything can happen to anyone even when innocent. The important thing is to maintain confidence and make the best of things. I remain strong throughout this experience, the whole cellblock respects me and I hold a reasoning with the other inmates here every night".
