Deejay Aidonia has vowed to make a positive impact on society. The deejay says despite his recent run-ins with the law, he is now prepared to put all of that behind him and place more focus on his career.Recently, both Aidonia and Kartel were questioned by members of Operation Kingfish in relation to a picture that was circulating, which appeared to show both deejays posing with high-powered weapons. And just a couple months earlier, Aidonia was also held on gun-related charges after he was accused of being involved in an alleged shooting incident that left one dead. However, the deejay, in a release sent to THE WEEKEND STAR, said he is "determined to be a positive role model, especially to the youths who have little or no positive male influence in their lives, and as such plans to send more positive messages in his songs." When contacted, Aidonia said, "Mi a guh cut back pon di gun-related songs right now and focus more on the ladies. Mi voice three girl song dis week already. Mi have a song a come out shortly called Spanish Fly pon Leftside 'Sand Fly' rhythm and dat song is going to be like the next Ukku." Aidonia also said he had a few cultural tunes that fans could look out for, "but right now wi a push Jail Story, which we will be shooting a video for soon. But Jail Story is about what happened leading up to my arrest and after." No more clashes Also, in keeping with Aidonia's new outlook on life, the deejay has vowed to stay away from all clashes and controversies, and is now willing to work with everybody in the music business. "I don't want any more animosity with any artiste or producer, no more clashing or drop words with no more artistes," he said. While some may think that Aidonia might be down and out because of his recent run-in with the law, Aidonia says he will not allow that to impact his career negatively. "Wi always tek a negative situation an mek it positive. So wi can use what happened to show that being an artiste you are not a superhuman, suh yuh jus do positive things," he said. But the gun tunes, although they might not be his main focus, will always be a part of Aidonia's lyrical topics. He says, "Being an entertainer, is being an artiste and music is art, suh is jus like in the movies, the actors play their role as action figures but they are not necessarily so in reality. I don't focus on one type of song, I am for the people, I give the people what they want." Recently, Aidonia has also broadened his scope as he recorded a soca song titled Pumping, which was a collaborative effort with Peter Ramm. The song is now creating a buzz in the Caribbean and other soca artistes, including Allison Hinds are already lining up to collaborate with the deejay. Aidonia also visited Barbados recently for three days, where he did a few club performances. He is also booked to do a show in Miami on March 21 and then in Trinidad in April. Looking past his troubles and looking towards the future, Aidonia says he sees himself in a better place in the next five years, "being on top of the game, number one artiste, both locally and internationally, and seeing the younger members of my group, JOP a force to reckon with in the music". Aidonia has also taken on a new management team, which is headed by Calis 'Bigga 5' Bowen and Aidonia's brother, Lav.
