LONDON (AP) - AC Milan held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League's second round.
Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor had the ball in the net in the 53rd, but it was called offside. He also headed a cross from substitute Theo Walcott onto the bar in the final minute of injury time.
The Gunners dominated possession and scoring chances, Emmanuel Eboue and Eduardo da Silva had shots but the Milan defense held firm.
Cesc Fabregas also forced AC Milan goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac into a save into the 75th. Kalac started in goal despite dislocating the index finger on his right hand in a training session on Sunday.
Arsenal, which lost 4-0 to Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, exited the tournament at this stage last season, while Milan beat Liverpool in the final for its seventh European title.
