Stone Crusher murder case still awaiting witness statement

Tashieka Mair, Gleaner Writer

WESTERN BUREAU

The Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court is still awaiting an outstanding statement from a witness in the matter against an alleged Stone Crusher Gang member answering murder charges.

On Monday when the matter was mentioned, the court was informed that only a witness statement was missing from the file, and that the prosecution may have to proceed without this statement as the witness was unwilling to give the statement.
Michel Heron, 20, is charged with the murder of Albert Forrester, which occurred at Bottom Pen, Montego Bay, in November 2006. Heron first appeared before the court in December 2006.
His alleged crony in Forrester's murder, Rohan Gordon, who was labelled as one of Jamaica's most wanted men, was killed by police last year.
In light of the information revealed in court, attorney Roy Fairclough asked that his client be granted bail. However, RM Winsome Henry said she would revisit the matter on March 3.
Allegations are that on November 3, 2006, Heron and Gordon approached Forrester, who was walking along the Bottom Pen main road.
Heron allegedly pulled a gun from the right side of his waistband and fired in the direction of Forrester. Forrester ran and was allegedly chased and shot by Heron and Gordon. Forrester collapsed in a nearby yard and died on the spot
