Kartel's presence causes tension at Bembe

Vybz Kartel and his entourage went to Bembe last night (in the past night), triggering tension in the popular weekly session as selector Jigsy played a hardcore set punctuated by tongue-in-the-cheek disses and word-throwing over Mavado tunes.

One876entertainment.com personnel in the venue were a bit antsy as Jigsy seemed intent on styling Kartel in a most obvious way. He also refused to play any Kartel tunes, and kept on repeating lines to the effect that mi anno bad man, but mi have police friend and played a couple of Mavado gangster tunes back-to-back to establish firmly that mi no fraida no bwoy.

He prefaced the playing of the Blak Ryno hit, Mek Di Paper by declaring that he would do well in the business if him no behave like a certain bwoy. After a while, the organizers went over to Kartel and his entourage. We are not sure what was said, but Kartel and his entourage willingly left the stage area, and went to another location in the venue.

Jigsy continued to talk de tings, playing Mavado songs and hinting that he would go into a girl segment, but he seemed hell bent on creating a war vibe. At least one member of staff decided that he would exit the stage area because the tension had grown so palpable, you could have cut it with a knife. Almost everyone was expecting something to go down, and Jigsy continued to stoke the fire.

Luckily, nothing happened, but the battle lines have been clearly drawn
