No stranger to the limelight, acclaimed reggae artist Gyptian returns to the spotlight as he unveils the video for the first single from his sophomore album, I Can Feel Your Pain. The video will be premiered exclusively on one of Jamaica's top entertainment station, RE-TV, on Monday, February 14th at 8pm, as it makes the rounds to media houses worldwide.
The track was produced by Solar Hit Music on the Cloud Nine Riddim, which is receiving heavy airplay with I-Wayne's "Book Of Life," the title track from his new album. The video was shot on location in New York City in late-December, and was directed and edited by Rhona Fox.
Gyptian calls himself an "ordinary yute." Hailing from St. Andrew, Jamaica, the 24-year old artist is anything but ordinary. His buttery voice drips with soulful reggae vibrations and brings a different flava to the reggae genre, with lyrics beyond his years. His vibes can be conscious and serious, melodious and romantic, or pulsating reggae reminiscent of a New Age lovers' rock.
Channeling sweet catchy lyrics fused with popular riddims, it is not unusual to hear Gyptian's voice belting from sound systems in the middle of a nightclub jam-packed with dancehall-hungry patrons. As a result, Gyptian is often hailed for bringing the conscious reggae movement to the mainstream masses.
Gyptian's talent is indeed one to treasure. His fans can look forward to sampling more of his unbridled talent when his second studio effort debuts later this year, courtesy of VP Records.
