Wednesday, 09 January 2008 The Met Office issued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of eastern and central parishes Tuesday night, with heavy rains expected Wednesday.
Residents in low lying these areas are advised to take precautions, keep listen for further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a warning is issued.
Strong Upper Level winds across the region have been generating showers over the central Caribbean including Jamaica.
On Tuesday, the island experienced moderate to heavy showers mainly over central and eastern parishes.
The forecast is for more showers, especially Wednesday afternoon into the late evening, as the strong winds persist across the region.
