Serani AKA The Future has been widely tipped as the new sound for 2008. His distinct vocal and melodies gave him his breakout hit, Doh! featuring Bugle last year, and if the response to his cameo appearance at Sting is anything to go by, in front of the hardest audience to please on the planet, 2008 looks very promising for the young hit-maker.
Serani will be kicking off the new year with the release of the video clip to his latest bubbler, Study People on Fire Links new Drumlane rhythm. Originally known for making such beats as Anger Management, Gullyside and the Dutty Wine soundbed, this multi-talented musician/artist/producer also made the Drumlane rhythm for Links. Directed by Julia Braham, with whom Serani feels he has a great chemistry after acclaimed clips for Doh and She Loves Me, the Study People video should hit screens early January.
A mix tape has also been completed and is expected to flood the streets this month, with an eye on bringing up his profile on the local and overseas market. Serani also jets out this month to Miami for the January 12 staging of Jazzy Ts big birthday bash and he has already been confirmed for the biggest one day dancehall event in North America The Best of the Best, set for Miami on Memorial Day weekend, Sunday May 25.
Self-produced singles Stinkin' Rich and I'm Not a Badman are also beginning to create waves on the streets for Serani.
To make it to the top of this game you need to put in a huge amount of hard work, reflects Serani. People often see the fame and fortune and think it comes easy, but it takes a round-the-clock effort to get there. Right now Im just putting in the foundation work, no vacations, no distractions, nothing, just straight music which is my life.
