The Truth behind: Sizzla vs Jah Cure

DefaultThe Truth behind: Sizzla vs Jah Cure

Role Model let fans down at Jam Jam

By: Elizabeth Smith
cure_kalonji.jpgBig "bowing up" went on at Cocoa Tea's Original Dancehall Jam Jam concert in Clarendon, where thousands of New Years eve revelers gathered to ring in 2008. This time it was Jah Cure who went completely out of control in response to words from Sizzla.
One would have thought that an event like this, on such an occasion - with resolutions and well wishes abound, would have been seeped in blessed love and understanding.
Well think again...because our best of the best in reggae music never fail to let us down and Jam Jam's backstage was the scene of mayhem amongst artistes, once again.
During the show, while Sizzla and is more than 50 member entourage were chilling backstage, Sizzla approached Jah Cure to give some "professional" advice on his vocal techniques.
Sizzla was concerned about the newly reprieved singer's breathing techniques in particular and suggested Jah Cure seek some professional development in the area of voice training.
Cure did not see Sizzla's comment as an amicable professional one and took offence. His reaction, which has been labeled as an "angry tantrum", saw Jah Cure jumping on top of a car and carrying on in a most appalling manner.
This "side show" was witnessed by both entourages of about 100 people and some media; all of whom watched in amazement.
Sizzla was reportedly in dismay over the whole thing, especially since he considers Jah Cure to be his ace. He said that he could not believe his brethren actually dealt with him in such a way.
An official statement has since surfaced, from Jah Cure's management, but it fails to address his senseless reaction to Sizzla on December 31st and YardFlex will bring more on this situation.
