To me, its one thing if yuh hear Kartel or Busy do a gangsta song and den a culture tune. Dem mon deh a gangsta and dem a play out waah gwaan in di streets. But di first time mi hear Sizzla do a gun chune it kinda tek mi back. When mi waan hear bout guns and violence a alliance and portmore empire mi look to. It just nuh seem right fi dem ting a come out a Judgement yard or David house. Mi overstand seh we are africans and we are warriors but Rasta is supposed to uplift di people. Is like seh some a dem waan walk both side of di fence. Fi defend yuhself gainst babylon or any sort of injustice is only right but yuh mean fi tell me seh Sizzla really get inna fight wid Jah Cure wah day? Jah Cure who di whole a Jamaica rally behind? Mi really lose offa Dadda fi dat. Mi still rate Sizzla, Munga and other Rastas who choose to boots war sometimes. I would just call pon dem fi judge wise. When people (especially outside a jamaica) learn about rasta and become fascinated with the lifestyle, teaching and covenants it can be devastating to see one of the most highly regarded rastas behaving like a bad mon. Dem fi know dat. Music is a mission not a competition. Furthermore mi feel seh Capleton fi talk to Munga caw im too hype too. Mi rate im as a artist wid a bright future but im wrong fi tump deva bratt wah day. Dem already look pon we jamaicans as hot heads. Rasta is supposed to prove dem wrong wit teachings of peace and love sorry but mi did av to vent .. unnuh tell mi what yuh tink
Bwoy, these days it seems like the rastas dont remember the roots behind what the elders use to stand for. These days its all about money making, rushing to finish a song to get money and not focusing on lyrics and meanings. How its been depicted now is that the rasta culture has widowed down to simply the hairstyle...
With the issue of sizzla and jahcure, we really dont know what pushed sizzla to do that, not that its right, but detailed facts are yet to be presented.
we have to understand sey some rasta a badmandem endorse peace, but dem nuh want people violate di orda, rules and laws govern di ting sometime it tek badniss fi uphold it
@calloss. even at the risk of violating the very order they are trying to uphold? dat nuh mek sense. its nothing but di willie lynch syndrome. mi guilty too yuh kno. mi nuh tek diss from nuh bwoy and mi will always choose fi defend myself and di honor of my family. but its all about discipline and self control. yuh tink seh you would eva see a richie spice or a taurus riley singin bout big long guns a run out pon dem? naw mon. dem mon deh know seh dat naw help. outside of baghdad, kingston is the most violent place on the planet! dem fi decide if dem boost dat or reduce dat
Jah know... mi really nuh support Sizzla actions, maybe he was provoke i have no clue what happened between the artistes.. but if Jah Cure was man enough not to retaliate (maybe he was thinking about is parole) whatever the reason... Sizzla should've been man enough to agree to disagree without things getting physical... It nuh look good fi di Rasta dem fighting...
As the Grung Gad say "Caaan believe some Rasta Man big Fassy Hole"...
