In the wake of Kanye Wests mothers death, perceived rival 50 Cent is showing his support for West during these difficult times.
"Thats really an unfortunate situation and I hope he can work his way through it," 50 told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday. "Its good to see him actually touring: You can work your way back into a comfortable space where you can deal with those situations."
As has been widely reported, Kanye and 50 faced off in the sales battle of 2007 September 11 when both of their new albums were released on the same day. Kanye ended up selling more than 50 and debuted at #1 the following week. Despite this, 50 Cent sees why this is such a tragic moment for West.
"I can definitely understand how thats a huge loss, and how that would be, and then (Kanyes) relationship with his mom had a lot more depth to it than a lot of peoples. He was real close to his mom" said 50.
And while 50 Cent fired several shots at Kanye West during their sales war in September and even mocked West recently at concert appearances, 50 insists there is no beef between the two.
"I never viewed him as an actual enemy; what I was trying to do is build a competition" stated 50.
