THE WAILERS "BURNIN'" TO BE PRESERVED IN U.S. LIBRARY OF CONGRESS

Audio recordings are selected annually by the United States Library of Congress for all time preservation in the National Recording Registry. These selections are made, based on the historical, cultural or artistic value of the recorded piece to our society. "Burnin," the classic album released by The Wailers in 1974; that followed the igniting release, "Catch a Fire," was chosen to be preserved by The Library of Congress."The album "Burnin" was a work by prophets," Mrs. Rita Marley said in an interview with Ben Manilla for the National Public Radio programme, "All Things Considered," that will itself be preserved in the Library of Congress as well.

When Eric Clapton recorded an adaptation of "I Shot The Sheriff" in 1974, Bob Marley and The Wailers received much recognition in Jamaica and internationally. The song is featured on "Burnin."
