The mother of Vybz Kartel's child, Sherika Todd, is taking him to court for child support. The court date is set for December 21 in St. Ann.
This comes more than a week after Todd filed a report at the Runaway Bay Police Station claiming that her life was threatened after she ended her four-year long relationship with the deejay.
According to Todd, the lawmen have been so far unsuccessful in contacting Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer. She says she has, however, been assured that the week will not pass without the deejay being served the summons.
When contacted, an officer attached to the Runaway Bay Police Station informed THE STAR that, "Only the officer (Constable Wisdom) who got the report could give an update and he is currently on sick leave."
In the meantime, Todd says she also wants to make it clear that "Addi (Kartel) has been going around doing interviews and telling lies," and that she wants to set the record straight.
"How could you have ended the relationship months ago (which Kartel said on a recent radio interview) when I was with you two weeks ago and I was the one who decided to call it a day?" she asked.
"I've also been trying to figure out how he could have said that he moved me out of an apartment in Kingston to move in his new girl when I've been living at my own place in Runaway Bay all my life," Todd said.
Todd, however, warns that if Kartel does not stop spreading the lies and owns up to the responsibility of his seven-month-old daughter Adi'anna, she will be forced to use her last line of defence.
"If I really wanted to become vindictive, I could just sit at my computer and destroy his whole life with the click of my mouse," Todd warned.
She also added, "Addi, I will not be caught up in a 'he says/she says' dispute as I will be settling this in the courts by late December. Addi can continue to do what he does best, talk a bag a tings."
Efforts to reach Vybz Kartel for a comment on the matter again proved unsuccessful as his cellphone went straight to voicemail. According to Todd, she heard that he changed his cellphone number because of her.
A recorded message was also left by Kartel on his old cellphone number, apparently for Todd, which said: "yow mi change mi numba, cause mi nuh waan talk to you, suh it switch. Suh fcyou bic."
