Members of the Alliance are in mourning this evening as a close personal friend and entourage member of deejay David 'Mavado' Brooks was gunned down in Cassia Park, St. Andrew today.

"When the deejay hear today, him shock, him get a seizure 'cause the man, Troy, ah him personal parry (friend), ah him de pon stage all 'bout wid him, he was a key member of Mavado's entourage and him neva did expect a ting like that fi happen outta the blue so," a source told us.

Mavado, who has a battery of songs such as Last Night, Amazing Grace and Dreaming which are assaulting the local dancehall charts, often deals with themes of violence, death and trigger-pulling in his work. And the singer is no stranger to violence in his personal life as his father was gunned down in Switzerland early last year, and he was questioned by the police in connection with a shooting incident at a studio in Havendale this year.
