Daville had a monster year in 2006 where his ‘On My Mind’ album spawned several hits and firmly cemented the singer as a heavyweight in the reggae world.
The industry has embraced him, and he racked up five nominations in the recent EME awards, winning the Vocalist of the Year category. He has also been nominated in five categories in the IRIE FM awards as well.
“My focus for 2007 is to the repeat the success I had in 2006 and take it to the next level. I want to create an even bigger trend, but I can’t dictate what will happen, all I can do is just do the work and continue doing it to the best of my ability,” he said.
Daville has a new single out called ‘Give Thanks For What You Got’ on the Guardian Angel rhythm. There are also plans to shoot a video for another single, ‘This Time I Promise’ which is at #5 on the RE TV charts as well as #10 on the Richie B Tru Juice charts. The single has also charted on the Bahamas and New York reggae charts.
He recently returned from Antigua after doing a club show there. The week before that, he was in the islands of Cayman and Belize.
“I am truly grateful and I have a whole lot of things in store for my fans this year,” he said.
Daville’s album, ‘On My Mind’, will be released by VP Records in March.
