TOTTENHAM last night signed Emmanuel Adebayor on a frantic day of transfer activity at White Hart Lane.
Adebayor, 28, agreed a four-year, £80,000-a-week deal after getting a mega pay-off from Manchester City.
Spurs also sold defender Sebastien Bassong to Norwich for £4million and, in a shock twist, agreed a £9m fee for Michael Dawson to join QPR.
Dawson, 28, was named club captain at a glitzy shirt launch just last month but failed to make Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas' squad at the weekend as they went down 2-1 at Newcastle.
Striker Adebayor should have no such problems, though, as Tottenham are desperate for another option up front alongside Jermain Defoe.
Adebayor, who hit 18 goals on loan at White Hart Lane last term, tweeted: "I'm back! Tottenham here I come! I am hungry for goals... Get ready."
He later added: "It may have taken longer than expected but I am delighted to be back.
"I really enjoyed my time here last season and I am hoping we can achieve great things together again."
