Whats the difference between bashment and dancehall

Before i thought it was just British slang for dancehall, however I was djing at a party playing dancehall and a few people were coming up requesting more bashment to get people dancing, could it be the dancehall i was playing was more digital sounding if that makes sense. I was playing like snap back riddim lost angel riddim buzz etc

people use the term DANCEHALL in a few ways:
REGGAE DANCEHALL - ONE DROPS, LOVERS, ECT...
BASHMENT DANCEHALL - LIKE WHAT YOU SAID SNAP BACK SO ON
BASHMENT DANCEHALL "uptown clubs" fatman scoop & bambam riddim remixs lol
best ting you do is when people ask you to play a type of music ask them to tell you a song that they would like to hear

thanks for the feedback, appreciate it. I always called stuff like marley lucky dube lovers rock etc reggae and refered to the digital music as bashment or dancehall as in same thing and ragga if it was the harder mid 90s stuff like bounty, beenie, scare dem etc. The newer riddims dont have so much the 'rough vocal' and dark sound which i understand to b 'ragga' however certain artists can still make a more commercial sounding riddim like overproof sound ragga like aidonia's cut. An example of what i see as a modern ragga beat is kartels bend like banana.
