DEFENDING world champion and triple world record holder Usain Bolt produced a scintillating run to easily win his pet event at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.
Back to his flambouyant best, the crowd pleasing Bolt led the field home in 19:40, a world leading time and the fourth-fastest in history.
Walter Dix of the United States was second and Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre placed third.
Fellow Jamaica Nickel Ashmeade placed fifth.
Bolt's win, which came despite his slow start, erased memories of his blunder earlier in the championships when he disappointed millions of fans with a false start in the 100 meters.
Bolt's win took Jamaica's medal tally to three gold, three silver and a bronze.
