The Gleaner understands that police detectives have the alleged driver of the BMW X5, who was involved in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Kingston College student Khajeel Mais.

Khajeel was killed on Friday night after an enraged driver of a BMW X5 shot up a taxicab in which he was driving.

The driver came out after his BMW X5 was bumped by the taxi. He reportedly fired two shots, one of which went through Khajeel's head.

The Gleaner understands that the driver used a legal firearm to commit the act. Highly placed sources say that he is the son of a famous figure linked to the entertainment industry.

The Gleaner also understands that the driver was before the courts on another matter.
