"EXCITING season, new stuff, lots of surprises." That's what comedians Ity and Fancy Cat say fans can expect when the fourth season of their show unfolds on July 10 on TVJ at 9:30 pm.
The launch of season four took place at Kingston's Fiction Lounge, and according to host Blakka Ellis the madness will continue as the lovable duo and team once again provide comic relief with amusing skits from Jamaican livity.
Minister of Sports and Culture Olivia 'Babsy' Grange hailed the team for their ability "to be creative and brave in taking on a lot of us and make us laugh". She also 'begged' for mercy as she told them not to do her too badly in their skits. (We all recall the famous spliced scene with her and Usain Bolt!)
She also lauded them for their effort in sustaining the local content "reaffirming our strong cultural identity".
"Music, creative arts and sports are at the centre of brand Jamaica," Grange noted as she said that all Jamaica can relate to the scenes being portrayed and the language used.
The Ity and Fancy Cat show
Since it first aired four years ago has managed to poke fun at various Jamaican personalities and events "without getting into trouble" praised Blakka Ellis.
Come season four with so many scenarios to choose from Dudus/Manatt Enquiry, Buju Banton trial, political scene it is left to be seen just what their comedic take on these will be.
Season four will see regular faces making their return to the show such as Kathy 'tan deh deh Grant, Iceman and Michael Abrahams.
According to Blakka Ellis there will also be some new people such as "Deon Silvera, Simon Crosskill ... and maybe even Assassin!"
Without giving away anything, Blakka Ellis teased; "As far as content goes we will continue to touch on whatever is current or exciting, and well, keep testing the edge with provocative parodies and spoofing popular personalities. And we're introducing two puppets who will be hilarious, and outrageously controversial."
