Hollywood couple Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey officially welcomed twins over the weekend as the renowned R&B singer/actress gave birth to a boy and girl in Los Angeles.
Details of the birth landed across the Internet Saturday (April 30) afternoon. It's official -- Mimi is now a mama! Mariah Carey gave birth to twins - a boy and a girl - on Saturday. The 41-year-old singing superstar gave birth at 12:07 p.m. EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles, Mariah's rep, Cindi Berger, told the Associated Press. Cannon also confirmed being a father via his Twitter page. "Congratulations to Mariah & Nick on the birth of#dembabies!!" a rep wrote on the singer's Twitter page. "Born, April 30th at 12:07pm ET. Mommy, Daddy & #dembabies are all doing fine!" Cannon added his sentiments on his Twitter page: "My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!"
The actor/rapper predicted Carey's delivery would take place sooner than later. And it was just as Cannon, 30, predicted. "I'm not trying to be a psychic, but we renew our vows every year so ... It's probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it," Cannon said Thursday when he guest-hosted The Talk. "We got the minister coming in, so this gown will not be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown." (
Last October, Carey revealed that she experienced a miscarriage around 2008."The way it happened, so quickly at first, I didn't know what to expect. That was not easy," she admitted. "I've never really been a very forthcoming person about my personal stuff. It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult. When that happened ... I wasn't able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy.
