Nicholas Nesbeth, also known as Fire Key, who police say is aleading member of the gang, was captured on Tuesday.
It became known today (January 27) that Nesbeth was no longer in custody although his release had not been ordered.
Irie FM News understands that an error was made and Nesbeth was, in error, released from custody
Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch Assistant CommissionerEalon Powell says a statement would be issued this evening.
Nesbeth was held by police early Tuesday morning in the Kirkland Heights/ Sterling Castle Area of Red Hills, St. Andrew.
Nesbeths capture followed that of alleged leader of the Dog Paw Gang, 21-year-old Christopher Dog Paw Linton.
