White Supremacist Group Calling For Boycott Of Movie 'Thor' Because A Black Actor, Idris Elba From 'The Wire' Has Been Cast As Heimdall

Were days away from the year 2011, yet ignorance and hate based on a persons skin color still exists.

A white supremacist group upset that actor Idris Elba, a black man has been cast as Heimdall in the upcoming Thor movie, wants it boycotted reports UK Guardian.

The Council of Conservative Citizens, which opposes interracial marriage and also calls Martin Luther King a "left wing agitator" and Communist has set up a website, boycott-thor.com.

They accuse Marvel Comics of inserting social engineering into Greek mythology, casting a black man as a Norse deity. The group also claims the comic giant used Captain America to attack the Tea Party movement, in 2010.

Elba, an English actor who is quite familiar to American fans after starring in The Wire, Obsessed, and American Gangster, thinks the controversy is ridiculous.

We all know someone of a different ethnic background, we all mix, so its great to have a character who happens to be black in the central position, the actor said earlier this year. There has been a big debate about it, can a black man play a Nordic character. Thors mythical right? Thor has a hammer that flies to him when he clicks his fingers.
