THE STAR has been informed that a missing gun has caused four members of one family to be abducted in a community in St Catherine.
Police reports are that they rescued the family members on Tuesday after receiving a report.
The abduction took place after a request was allegedly made for a member of the family to hand over a gun that he was given to hide for thugs from the community.

It is said that when the thugs returned for the weapon the family member could not produce the weapon and several threats were made.
Following up on their threats, a visit was made to the house by the thugs early Tuesday morning and the father and three brothers captured. They were taken to a house in the area and tied up.
One of the captured persons, a 13-year-old, is said to have managed to escape and fled the compound. The youngster is then said to have related the issue to a man.
Reports reached the police and as a result they responded and found the family. They were released from their bondage at the house.
Checks made by THE STAR revealed that further investigations are now under way.
