Léo Taxil (whose original name was Marie Joseph Gabriel Antoine Jogand-Pagès) was an atheist who had been accused earlier of libel(slander) on account of a book he had written called The Secret Loves of Pius IX. On April 20, 1884, Pope Leo XIII published an encyclical, Humanum Genus, that said that the human race was "separated into two diverse and opposite parts, of which the one steadfastly contends for truth and virtue, the other of those things which are contrary to virtue and to truth. The one is the kingdom of God on earth, namely, the true Church of Jesus Christ ... The other is the kingdom of Satan," which were "led on or assisted" by Freemasonry.

After this encyclical, Taxil underwent a public, feigned conversion to Roman Catholicism, and announced his intention of repairing the damage he had done to the true faith. His real intent, however, was to publicly slander the Freemasons (who had rejected him for membership), and simultaneously embar**** the Roman Catholic Church.

THE CONFESSION

Now, I address myself to the Catholics. I tell them: When you were told that Doctor Bataille, pretending to be devoted to the Catholic cause, spent eleven years of his life exploring the darkest dens of secret societies, Lodges and Back-Lodges,1. and even luciferian Triangles, you fully approved him, you found his behavior admirable. He was overwhelmed with congratulations. Should the cheers which greeted Doctor Bataille be now reconsidered, they existed nonetheless and were thunderous. Illustrious theologians, eloquent preachers, eminent prelates congratulated him, each louder than the other. And I do not say they were wrong.
I merely and simply determine a fact.
And the purpose of this determination is to allow me to say forthrightly:
"Do not get angry, my reverend fathers, but do laugh heartily when you are told now that what did happen is the very opposite of what you expected. There wasn't the shadow of a dedicated Catholic exploring the High-Masonry of Palladism under a false nose. But, on the contrary, there has been a freethinker who, for his own edification, not because of any hostility, came into your camp and strolled, not during eleven years but during twelve, and... it is your servant." (Various reactions: murmuring, laughter).
There wasn't the least masonic plot in this story, which I shall prove to you shortly. "We must leave to Homer, singing the exploits of Ulysses, the adventure of the legendary Trojan Horse; that formidable horse has nothing to do in this case. Todays tale is much less intricate.

taxil may be dead, but his hoax lives on

You would think that after the legendary Leo Taxil hoax which managed to endure and become the backbone of most modern conspiracy theories, bloggers wouldnt either fall for the same exact thing, or try to recreate it. Then again, in the world of conspiracies, every hoax or tall tale is just a suppressed truth just struggling to get out and even if a particular line of evidence has been debunked by just about everyone, including their friends pet goldfish, its still fair game with enough layers of supposed cover-ups layered on top. lol the man serious u fook. conspiracy theorist are the ones spreading confusion, they claim to seek the truth but exclude rationality and objectivity and the like in their "search". dem see tings set a way and just jump up n seh "a muss this n dat mek it set suh". they have no conclusive proof for their nonsence they follow up on countless missinformation and missinterpretations. dem si all kinda curruption a gwaan an juss jump up n claim its all under one umbrella based on "information" they or u cant conclusively prove to be true bcuz u were never there to c what really happened so u jump to conclusions. u fail to realise that wolf in sheeps clothing are in every single nook n cranny of the globe including ur conspiracy thiorists. u fail to realise that spme of these theories are spreaded by the same media u say is untrustworthy. the media is untrustworthy thats just life. mafo y is it everything negative the media says about kartel u jump and beleive? pitypity mi done wid unnuh inno

best comment i read in a very long time on this forum. ppl dont trust news reports, but everything they see on things like zeitgeist, they dont even consider to see critically.
